Ahmedabad: With a 29-paise increase in just one day, gasoline prices touched Rs 99.75 per liter on Tuesday while the diesel price was Rs 98.53 per liter, up 39 Paise.
Over the past six months, gasoline has received 14% more expensive and 13% diesel.
With higher fuel costs, some industries struggle against additional cost pressures because the cost of other raw materials also increases.
Fuel requests have not changed much, according to data from petroleum dealers.
“The people’s movement has continued and the overall fuel consumption has risen and will grow further because of the celebration season.
Customers at the fuel station have complained about high prices because their budget has been greatly affected for the past six months,” said a petroleum dealer based in Ahmedabad.
Continuous increase in fuel prices is an alarming industry and transporter.
“Fuel costs contribute most of our operating costs and we cannot pay too expensive on clients on contracts that have been negotiated and forced to absorb higher prices.
Diesel prices have increased every two three days and this increase also makes us difficult to negotiate Contract prices with clients, “said Mukesh Dave, President, Akhil Gujarat Truck Transporters (AGTTA).
Meanwhile, industrial players are also worried about additional cost pressures because of higher fuel prices.
“While industrial activities have taken steps, higher fuel prices are additional cost pressures that affect the manufacturer’s margins.
All domestic and export shipments will be more expensive.
Prices of raw materials have increased due to global cues,” said Bhupendra Patel, former President VATVA industry association.
