The price of vegetables rose in Telangana after continuous rain

Hyderabad: The excess rain in Telangana for the past few weeks has caused damage to massive plants in the country triggering a 20-50 percent increase in vegetable prices.
With the majority of vegetables that arrive from neighboring countries, the increase in fuel and transportation allegations also adds vegetable costs.
According to the record of the Agriculture Marketing Committee (AMC), the Bowenpally vegetable market receives more than 20,000 quintering vegetables per day.
Although the number of vegetables arrived at the Bowenpally stable market this year, 68 percent of it arrived from countries such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
Prices for vegetables such as women fingers, brinjal, cauliflower, dondakai, capsicum, carrots have surged to almost Rs 50-60 / kg against RS 30-40 about 10 days ago.
However, the price of basic vegetables such as onions, tomatoes and stable potatoes.
“While rainfall has a big impact on vegetable plants in Telangana, high fuel prices are also associated with an increase in transportation costs among farmers,” said L Srinivas, Secretary, AMC, Bowenpally Market.
Rue consumers that while vegetable costs rise, the quality of vegetables is very bad.
“Some vegetables don’t live even for three days.
I bought vegetables from vendors who approach my house every day to ensure that vegetables are not spoiled,” Veena Nandan said, a resident of West Maredpally.
Vegetable vendors expect prices to stop by Diwali following the onset of Seeon winter.
“Every year, the price shoots at the end of the rainy season and drops only with Diwali’s time.
This year too, we expect the same trend,” said N Seenu, a vegetable vendor in Sainikpuri.
