The AIDMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam has demanded Minister M K Stalin to issue Rs 2,500 to all ration cardholders, along with Pongal Hamper.
He crashed into Stalin for leaving financial assistance which was part of Pongal Hamper for the past two years during the reign of AIADMK.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ops said the previous AIDMK government had notified Rs 1,363 Crore during distributing RS 1,363 during the pongal for all ration card holders in January 2020, when there was no pandemic.
During last year’s pandemic, he said, the AIDMK government has climbed financial assistance to Rs 2,500 per ration card and allocated RS 5.604CR.
“The DMK government only has 1,088 crore rs for pongal prizes and has been done with financial assistance,” he said.
