Ludhiana: In a joint operation, the CIA-II department and excise Ludhiana conducted a raid on the banks of the Satluj River near the village of Khera Betuh and restored 100 bottles of liquor made by the country and another 95,000 liters on Tuesday.
The case has been registered against 12 defendants based on excise at the Ladhowal Police Station.
The defendant has been identified as Harjinder Singh, Shinder, Singh Binder, Mukhtiar Singh, Saavni, Mahinder, Gabbar, Gurnam Singh and Raji from Bhode Village in Jalandhar Rural and Preeth Singh, Bittu and Rupa of Bute Diya Shanna Jalandhar Village.
Yashpal Sharma Sub-Inspector, In-Charge, CIA-2, said, “In Tip-Off, the police along with the excise team carried out the attack.
But before the team reached the place, the defendant had fled.
