The pune weekly ponytitude level drops to 7-month low

Pune: The positive level of the district weekly Covid fell to 3.8% for the period of August 5-11 – the lowest in the past seven months and 0.9% less than 4.7% the previous week.
The weekly positive rate (WPR) of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area was 2.5% and that within the limit of the Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) was 3.7%.
Pune rural areas this week registered WPR 4.9% – 0.6% less than 5.5% last week.
Positive vibrations in the district WPR data before a weekly Covid review meeting on weekends will strengthen the case of several business bodies that are looking for more relaxation.
With the three administrative units at Pune recording sliding in WPR, the final decision on whether the relaxation announced by the state government will apply to the district or not be expected to be taken at a review meeting.
Commissioner Division Pune Saurabh Rao told TOI that every proposal about further relaxation in the timing will be discussed at the meeting.
“While the WPR has declined to almost the lowest over the past few months, we must remain very careful, follow the right Covid behavior and maintain limitations as described in orders.
If there is a violation of the norm, the case will definitely increase,” he said.
Rao said the rural government has succeeded in identifying hotspots and isolating the earliest infected.
“IEC activities (Information, Education, Communication) Spreading the appropriate behavior of Covid also produces results.
Stress in the cabin (appropriate Covid behavior), along with accelerating vaccination in the region with a high level of pepositives, will be the focus area,” Rao said.
Ward-wise monitoring and accelerating vaccination in the area with a high level of pioneering helps bring down WPR in the PMC and PCMC areas too, he said.
“Early detection, followed by the results of the initial test, help.
The death rate, also, has been dipped and 1.5% in Pune opposed 2.2% for the country,” he said.
Dr.
Subhash Salunkhe said someone should not be careful with the wind following a little panties in the Wpr.
He emphasized strict monitoring of appropriate Covid behavior, double masking and vaccination.
In front of the third wave of Covid-19 which is possible, the district government slowly slowly increases the capacity of 7,000 beds and encourages oxygen storage facilities to 55,000 mt.
In vaccine deficiencies, Pune division commissioners said, “We have the capacity to vaccinate almost 1 person every day.
But there has been a delay because of the unavailability of vaccines,” he said.
Analyzing a breakthrough infection in the district after the first and second vaccine dose was found that severe cases were associated with comorbidity, an official said.
