Coimbatore: More than four decades after the city becomes a corporation, everything will be arranged to get the mayor of her first woman in the upcoming urban local agency election.
While the announcement of the State Election Commission has ended the race for positions among male politicians, he has entertained for their female colleagues in the city.

However, the lobby has begun among female politicians, looking for tickets to compete for the top position in the city.

In the powerful DMK camp, the name of the Wing Register for Women’s Wing District Meena Jayakumar made a round of mayor prospective.
Former member of the female council and several other party officials were also in the race.
In the opposition AIADMK camp, Sharmila, K chandrasekar’s wife, a colleague close to the former Minister of Administration S S P Velumani was mentioned as a possible candidate.
The AIADMK man said that there was another female loyalist from Velumani who could not be ruled out for the post.
BJP is also getting ready with his own candidate, hoping that AIDMK will distribute the chair of the mayor to its allies.
Although the city was made by the company in 1981, the position of mayor and elections for it was only introduced in 1996, when V Gopalakrishnan from Congress Tamil Maanila was the first mayor as a DMK ally.
The city only has a male mayor since then – three of AIDMK, each of the Congress and Congress Tamil Maanila.
While open posts for women in the past, there were no political parties that deployed female candidates in the city, unlike companies in Erode, Trichy and Thoothukudi who have a women’s mayor.
The city, however, has the Deputy Mayor of Mayor once (2011-16).
