New Delhi: Paying attention to “contradictory booths” taken by Indian trains before various high courts and the Supreme Court about relocation and rehabilitation of slums in violating the land, the APEX court on Monday seeking an explanation from the Secretary of the Ministry of Train.
This directs the submission of written statements within a week.
Senior Advocate Colin Gonesalves proposed that the train had told the Delhi High Court that he adopted the Delhi government’s policy to rehabilitate wild residents who have penetrated their land, and even lawyers, while emerging for the ministry, have told the Supreme Court, have told the Supreme Court Last year it formulated a policy.
But the train believes before the Gujarat High Court that there is no such policy and it also did not reflect on any policy, he argued.
The bench heard the request against the order delivered by Gujarat HC, directed evictions of more than 10,000 residents of the slums living near the railway in the letter.
Challenging a high court order, the applicant accused the demolition without providing illegal rehabilitation schemes.
ASG KM Nataraj told Cape Court that there was no such policy for rehabilitation.
