Ponda: The day after falling dudhsagar opened for tourists, the temporary road created on the rivulet of the Dudhsagar river was washed away after heavy rain during the night intervention Saturday and Sunday.

Members of the Dudhsagar Tour Operator Association (DTOA) Tribolo Souza said that road damage would leave many tourists disappointed because they had to return without visiting the waterfall.
Hundreds of tourists have gathered at the DTOA booking counter since morning, he said.
As a sign of Hopeedling Hope, the beautiful Dudhsagar waterfall saw the increase in foot tourists on the first day of the new season.
While 140 tourists can visit the waterfall, more than 500 cannot get a jeep because the forestry department only allows 20 to stab because of high water currents in Rivulet.
“The water level and current in Rivulet are high due to rain in the Ghat area.
Considering safety, we have limited the Jeep Number to 20 per day,” Kumar, who is also the head of the Wildlife Warden of the State, told Tii.
On the first day of last season, the waterfall had seen a weaker start with only 110 visitors.
In 2019, The Falls had registered 315 visitors, but the number last year was the lowest since the waterfall opened to the public in 1989.
The pandemic took 80% footsteps.
Relatively, the 2018 season is quite good because 1,127 people have visited on the first day of the opening season.
Overall, in 2020, only 1,73,476 tourists visiting The Falls, which is also only domestic.
The Falls were closed for tourists on May 7 previous season between October 2, 2019, and until close on March 15, 2020, a total of 10,75,556 tourists, including a large share of foreign nationals, visited by data visited by the Ministry of Forestry.
At present 431 Jeep is registered with the State Wildlife Council for the passenger ferry to the foot of The Dudhsagar Falls.
However, the Wildlife State Goa Council has limited the number of jeeps that can operate up to 240.

He said that the resumption of tourist jeep would be decided according to the flow of water in Rivulet.
Last year too, the situation was the same and we had to start the season from October 25, said Kumar.
