New Delhi: The Government Government on Tuesday asked people not to let their guards down even when the Daily Covid case continued to show a downward trend.
“We may be tired but the virus is not,” said the Secretary Joint Ministry of Health LAV Aggarwal.
While giving media direction to the situation in the country, Aggarwal said the slowdown at the rate of decrease in Covid cases was the field of concern for the government.
“The average new daily cases declined from 3,87,029 cases between 5-11 and 38,090 cases between 21-27 July.
In the past few weeks, there has been a slowdown at a rate of decline, which remains a concerned field,” he said.
“If we see from a global perspective, the pandemic is far from the beginning,” Agarwal said.
India on Tuesday recorded less than 30,000 cases of Covid-19 after 132 days.
On vaccination issues, members of Niti Aayog VK Paul said the government hoped to have 15 doses of crore vaccines for August.
He reaffirmed government advice about following the Covid protocol and asked people to minimize their journey.
