Ahmedabad: As a countdown for RATH YATRA 144 began on Thursday with a nod of the state government, experts suggest caution while carrying out a large procession.
Senior AMC officials said that among the positive cases of Covid-19 active in the city, the majority were in the Western City section.
“Actually, compared to the first wave where several regions such as Jamalpur, Shahpur, fromapur and Saraspur are one of the most affected, the second wave has more concentration in the parts of the Western City,” the official said.
But the source added that some areas on the route have a percentage of vaccination less than the city average.
“There are several reasons for disputes, but vaccinations have not taken it,” said an official.
A senior epidemiologist told TOI with anonymity requirements that hours of night are rather difficult to wear.
“Many viewers might try to catch a glimpse and can gather even in private buildings if not on the road.
We hope the event does not produce a surge in the case,” said the expert.
