Ranchi: The Rath Yatra procession in Ranchi will remain suspended for the second year in a row, the committee said at night celebration.
However, all custom rituals will be held behind the closed door on Monday, they added.
“The Temple Management Committee has been informed by Ranchi administrative officials that the government has denied permissions to take procession.
Therefore, there will be no procession this year,” Pandit Rameshwar Padi, a senior priest at Jagannathpur Temple in Dhurwa Ranchi, told TII Sunday.
Likewise, the procession of Rath Yatra, taken every year from Queen Palace, will also be suspended.
“The priests and family members will attend a special Puja to be held behind a closed door at the Queen’s palace,” Damodar Mishra, said Imam Palace.
The Rath Yatra procession protected by Ratu Palace is more than 300 years old.
Founded in 1691 by the local Nagvanshi ruler King Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, Jagannathpur’s temple on a hill was built as an image of the separation of the Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Rath Yatra’s procession was an annual affair since then until last year, when the restrictions induced by Covid-19 prevented the Dewa Train Resident Resident Temple – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balram and Dewi Subhadra – from rolling for the first time within 329 years at the Temple of -riwar.
The procession was taken to the Temple of Mausi Bari two kilometers away.
Dewa returned to the temple after nine days.
The temple committee has moved the Jharkhand High Court and begged that the procession was allowed last week.
However, the court said it was the state government’s decision whether to allow the process.
This procession attracts lakh worshipers from Ranchi and neighboring districts every year.
“Given the situation Covid-19, permission has been rejected to the operator of the Rath Yatra procession,” Vinay Kumar Choubey, the main secretary of the Head of the Minister of Hemant Soren.
Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan did not respond when contacted to determine the preparations made to avoid meetings.
The priests of the Temple of Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar had met Sungen last week and urged him to organize Shravani Mela, which will begin later this month.
“We haven’t decided,” Choubey added.
