PANAJI: The work of repair and renovation at the Academy will be completed in the time frame determined by the government and the building will be ready in February 2022, the Minister of Art and Culture Govind Gaude said on Monday.
“I haven’t checked the site for the last eight days but until then, the waterproof has been done on a slab.
We will check the sound and acoustics of the building, besides other repair work,” he said.
Gaude said that the code of ethics for the 2022 election would not affect the pace of work.
“We are optimistic that the work will be completed in 10 months.
We started the renovation work in June and in February we had to be able to solve it.
We will give infrastructure when the Academy,” said Minister.
Last month, the state government had been submitted before the Bombay High Court in Goa that they had decided not to destroy each structure in the Kala Academy complex, including an open auditorium, but would make structural improvements and even renovations work for preservation and even renovation for preservation and even renovation Complex maintenance.
The court has been aware of the TOI report in 2019 where Gaude stated that when the Academy, one of the most iconic Panaji buildings, would see the popular open auditorium destroyed.
The minister was then submitted to the High Court that although state governments did not make the decision to destroy open auditoriums, “other options” will be explored only if the structure recovery is not possible.
