New Delhi: The Republic of Republic of Parade this year will have 16 contingents march, 17 military bands and 25 tableaux from various countries, departments and armed forces, the Indian army said in a statement on Saturday.
The army will be represented by the cavalry column installed, 14 mechanical columns, six marching contingen and flypast by advanced light helicopters from their flight wings in the 2022 parade (RDP-2022), he said.
The mechanical column of the army will feature a PT-76 tank, one Centurion tank, two MBT Tanks Arjun MK-I, one slavery of APC Topas armored personnel, one BMP-I vehicle infantry and two BMP-II infantry fighting vehicles, it was stated.
One 75/24 PACK Howitzer, two Howitzers Dhanush, one layer laying bridge one PMS, two laying systems of the Sarvatra bridge, one HT-16 electronic war system, two Taran Shakti electronic warts, one tiger cat’s missile system and two akash missile systems too will be part of the mechanical column.
Six marching contingen from the Indian army will be Rajput Regiment, Assam Regiment, Jammu and Kashmir Infantry, Sikh Light Infantry, Army Arm Armament Corps Resiments and Parachute Regiments, according to statements.
One marching contingent of each Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy will also participate in RDP-2022, the statement said.
From the central paramilitary forces, five marching contingsents from the central reserve police forces (CRPF), Central Industrial Police forces (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Guard Coast India (ICG) and the Border Security Force (BSF) will participate in RDP – 2022, it was stated.
Overall, there will be 16 contingents marching from the armed forces, central paramilitary forces, police Delhi, Corps National Cadet (NCC), national service scheme (NSS) along with 17 military bands, pipes and drummas drums in parades, noted.
Two VIR Chakra and One Ashok Chakra Awardees will also participate in this year’s parade.
Before the start of the RDP-2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lead the nation to pay homage to the soldiers who made the highest sacrifice by placing bouquets at the National War Memorial, said the statement.
RDP-2022 will begin at 10:30 a.m.
and end at 12 noon, he said.
Twenty-five Tableaux from various countries, departments and armed forces will be part of the RDP-2022, he said.
Two Teams – One male team from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and a female team from the Border Security Officer (BSF) – will do a motorcycle display.
Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra, Commander General of the Delhi Commander, will be the Commander of Parade and General Alok Kacker, Delhi Chief of Staff, will be the second pioneer of the parade, said the statement.
RDP-2022 will march from Vijay Chowk to the National Stadium through the Rajpath traditional route, he said.
