Pune: District rural police have decided to act against the resort owner to say Covid-19 norm while holding a wedding ceremony.
The move was taken considering the increasing crowding at the resort in rural areas.
Police Supervisors, Pune (Rustic), Abhinav Deshmukh said that there was a new trend to do a wedding at a resort located in a remote area so that more people could be invited.
“We have received complaints in the last few days.
To control activity, we will do a special drive across our limit,” he said.
There are more than 500 such resorts in Maval, Mulshi, Khed, Bhor and Vele Tehsils.
In accordance with the direction of the state government, 50 guests are allowed to attend a wedding in a closed hall, while 100 people can attend if the ceremony is held in the open space.
“We have told all officers responsible for the police station to hold meetings with the owner to tell them about the guidelines and actions that can be taken against them,” Dishmukh said.
According to sources, the resort fee between Rs is 50,000 to RS 2 Lakh for the wedding.
The tariff varies according to the locality.
Meanwhile, the resort owner claims that their place is ‘covid-compliant’.
“Often, the bride agreed to follow the limits, but they invite more guests.
In such cases, we cannot do anything.
People also need to obey strict norms,” Sandesh Jadhav said, the resort owner at Maval Tehsil.
