Times News Network Kanpur: Si, who was respected on August 15 with a remarkable service medal by the Ministry of Home Affairs, was suspended and sent to be imprisoned on charges of taking bribes from jewelry on Sunday.
Sonu Soni, a resident of Sohramau Sohramau Village, has a jewelry store in the Bilawa Village area.
On Saturday night around 6pm, Sonu left the bicycle through the Ranikheda area of ASOHA.
Si Sarvesh Rana, who was checking the vehicle at the Junction of Ranikheda, stopped it.
Sonu accused that he asked him to show his bag.
Seeing Jewellry in the bag, Si accused him of buying and selling stolen jewelry.
Then, threatening to send him to prison, he demanded Rs 1 Lakh.
Si, after that took him to the police station where the agreement finally settled Rs 40 thousand.
Sonu, however, gave him Rs 20 thousand and convinced SI to give him the remaining Rs 20 thousand on Sunday.
Sonu meanwhile told Purva Mla Anil Singh about the incident.
Around midnight, MLA reached the ASOHA police station told SP Unnao Avinash Pandey about the action of SI.
SP directs the purva co to investigate this problem on the night itself.
SP Avinash Pandey said that during the investigation, the allegations of the Sarvesh Rana were found correct.
“A pine has been registered under the prevention of corruption law,” SP said and added further, “on Sunday afternoon, SI was produced in court, from there he was sent to prison.”
