The road for people announced Sans nodded from traffic police, automatic seller panels or shop owners

Nagpur: Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) moves to declare a room of 300 meters from the main road Sitabuldi as a ‘No Vehicle Zone’ has come under the scanner.
The city traffic police have not issued a notice of rules ‘without vehicle vehicles’ on this road, which must be suitable for law before stating the move.
As part of the road for the initiative of the person, the NSSCDCL on Friday declared a stretch would be a ‘no vehicle zone’.
This step aims to facilitate the snack zone.
Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Commissioner of the City of Radhakrishnan B, and General Manager NSSCDCL (neighborhood) Pranita Umredkar, among others, present.
Umredkar explained that Smart City will apply the way to people’s initiative with the basis of experiments for two weeks on this stretch.
As planned, Hawkers will be accommodated in the middle of the road and the buyer can move on both sides.
There is no Hawker who can occupy a room in front of the store.
Umredkar said the road for people has been launched on the basis of pilots and the main motives is to introduce the concept of a friendly street market in the city.
So, from Friday, the NSSCDCL stated a 300 meter stretch (from variety square to Loha Pul) because there was no vehicle zone.
However, it has not taken permission from the Nagpur City Traffic Police.
“We have not given permission to declare a stretch because there is no vehicle zone,” DCP (traffic) confirmed by Awad’s nest.
Also, NSSCDCL claims to have taken approval from the City Magnifying Committee (TVC).
However, a senior official from the NMC market department confirmed that there was no TVC that had been formed.
Even Kaustav Chatterjee, who was a member of the previous TVC, said the state government approval of the final committee proposal submitted by the NMC was awaited for three years.
“Thus, in the absence of TVC, discussing with several selected Hawkers representatives do not have significance and will cause more confusion,” he showed.
TVC before, who had worked at the ground surface for three months, had identified the hawking zone and even marked the path to notify the Hawking area.
But the committee is dissolved.
There has been a continuous struggle between shop owners and vendors on the main road of Sitabuldi.
Thus, before making large decisions, a systematic approach involving all stakeholders including store owners is needed.
Office-carrier Association of Sitabuldi traders and shopkeepers Parag Thakkar said the steps to make the vehicle free area had surprised traders.
“We were not told or consulted this decision.
We condemn this step and do not want this rule.
Stopping the entry of vehicles on the main road will kill our business,” he said.
Hawkers have made chaos on the road.
Many of them are not even registered.
Let them sit in the middle of the road actually making it Hawking, and not a step that will go with the smart city concept, the shop owner said.
On the other hand, such a proposal works when there is a large parking lot, which doesn’t happen to this stretch.
There are around 3,000-4,000 two-wheeled shop guards and their staff, and 12,000-15,000 other customer vehicles.
Traffic police from the traffic zone Sitabuldi also confirmed that there was no space intended for parking the buyer’s vehicle around it around it.
NSSCDCL has not looked for the spread of additional traffic police to implement new rules, they said.
Toi see the chaos on this stretch with vendors who violate the whole road during the day.
Many are seen breaking Covid-19 guidelines such as moving without masks, not following social distance norms etc.
The attitude of the planner seems to be biased with snack traders.
They assume they are confident but don’t even consult with the shop owner.
Before planning anything from this stature, people in a position must see land reality and talk to stakeholders, the shopkeepers said.
In the past too, a similar step was announced but failed after the shop owner from the main road Sitabuldi approached the High Court.
