VALPOI: Velus locals, especially school students, will now have access to the path for their daily trips.
The population had demanded for the past two decades.
The authorities concerned had turned deaf to their requests.

2 from Valpoi City Council (VMC).
Administrative sanctions for RS 30 Lakh have been given for projects that include existing road widening and construction of trail with pavers over a stretch of 300m.
Over the years, widening of the stretch between roads of Kabrastan to Hanuman Vidyalaya School cannot occur due to various reasons.
It is a cause of concern for students who usually step along this road during peak time.
The problem exacerbated the last monsoon when the road began to flood, putting the lives of risky students.
“In addition to students, travelers face problems while driving their vehicles on this route.
So, we have started the work of building a path with the help of Local MLA Vishwajit Rane,” said Ramdas Shirodkar board member.
He said the job would be completed in two months.
“After a repeat request, finally our request will be fulfilled,” said a happy velus resident.
