Bhubaneswar: Prison Supervisors have been asked to conduct an environmental audit in prison to find out vulnerable places and articles that can help commit suicide prisoners and take precautions immediately.
The prison authority has also been advised to keep inmates with suicide tendencies based on CCTV supervision.
Instance has arrived at the notification that some detainees commit suicide in the past by hanging in cells, toilets or isolated places.
Unnormal incidents such as placing a question mark on the security arrangement and alertness of the assignment staff.
Prevention steps could be taken to protect their lives, said circle 16 points sent by Director General (Prison and Correctional Services) Santosh Kumar Upadhyay for all prison authorities on Wednesday.
According to his order, all wells in prison must be fenced with the door and grated key.
Prisoners will not be involved in the well for any purpose.
Cells or insulation cars must be sought correctly and equipment or articles that can facilitate suicide must be removed.
All sky lights inside the cell, the isolation foundation and all windows must be protected by wire wire mesh to prevent prisoners from using the blade to commit suicide.
Knives and other tools used in work warehouses, kitchens and equipment used by barber or tailor in prison must be calculated and locked by supervisors every day.
