Kolkata: Some schools in the city continue the physical class for senior students on Thursday, in accordance with the direction of the West Bengal government, while some other people have decided to open their campus later this month only after ensuring that all the safety steps related to Covid are in place.
The South Point High School, one of the well-known institutions here, started classes for students 9 and 11, while from 10 and 12 it was told to register their presence from Monday, spokesman Krishna Damani told PTI.
Safe! You have managed to throw your voteogin to see the results of class 8 will attend school from February 16, he said.
Two La Martiniere schools for boys and girls, both are famous for academic superiority, will begin to provide lessons on campus to grade 8 to 12 students from February 7, Secretary Supriyo Dhar said.
However, school authorities will hold classes in hybrid mode – both online and offline – to avoid crowding, Dhar said.
The Chairperson of the Mamata Minister Banerjee earlier this week announced that the physical class would be continued in schools from February 3 for students 8 to 12, given the increase in the pandemic situation.
An official at G D Birla Center for Education said that most senior students went to school on Thursday.
“Those who don’t want to attend physical classes can enter virtually,” he said.
Likewise, Arijit Mitra, Principal Nava Nalanda, that schools affiliated with the State Council will open their campus on February 11 after “perfecting” all steps Covid-19.
Mitra said that the school hopes the senior students will be vaccinated before the physical class continues.
Abhishek Kumar Yadav, Academic Director of Griffins International School, states that virtual meetings will be arranged with parents to eliminate their fears before the resume class on February 7.
“We want the campus ready to welcome students and teachers.
We will hold a virtual meeting with parents to eliminate fear, if any, because grade 8 students are not vaccinated.
“We also plan to have activities, open classrooms to help children tailored to regular class schedules,” he added.
Sarkar’s pabitra education said the class suspension had affected students with many ways over the past two years.
“I am not sure whether all problems are treated in a well-calibrated manner or with a hasty approach by the state government, given that the pandemic has not ended.
It was also equally true that the termination of activities on campus did take great casualties in education and Student welfare, “said Sarkar.
Student, SFI and ABVP organizations have praised the decision of the minister’s chairman to start the class for students from senior sections and both claim credit for government steps.
“We will continue intense agitation in the coming days to ensure that all the classes continue the activities on campus,” said Secretary of the State ABVP Saptarshi Sarkar.
Srijan Bhattacharya, Secretary General of the State of SFI, claimed that “because of organizational sustainable agitation, the TMC government must take this decision.”
Schools and colleges in Bengal, are mostly closed since March 16, 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Institutions have been briefly opened in February and November last year only to be closed again because the number of infections continued to surge throughout the state.
