Coimbatore: District administration has strictly asked for school to place a complaint box on their campuses for children to report cases of sexual harassment and take action on them immediately through coistline.
The principal has been asked to send actions taken to district education officers, head of district head education and prison too.
Schools have also been asked to establish an internal complaints committee consisting of teachers, parents, social activists, female police officers and representatives of female students.
The move came after suicide of a class XII student, who hung himself at his home recently after he was sexually harassed by his fisikanya teacher.

District administration, must have a key with two key sets.
While a set must be with a senior school teacher, the remaining ones must be entrusted to the district social welfare officials or the Head of the District Legal Service Authority.
District administration has asked all schools to display contact details of the Ministry of Education officials, police officers of the police station and supervisors of children’s safety welfare nearby with all women’s police stations on their information board to allow children to report sexual abuse cases.
