Mumbai: Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad on Friday asked MMRDA to memo tender to appoint a consultant to develop a master plan for the development of the city salt area.
On Wednesday, MMRDA had received an offer to appoint a consultant but one day later Minister of Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray and Awhad opposed the move, said that no housing or commercial construction would be permitted on PAN land in the city.
Cm Uddhav Thackeray also spoke to Awhad and told him that he supported his scene to keep salt soil beyond the limit for any construction.
“The Head of the MMRDA must memo tender calling for the appointment of consultants for salt pan which in the coming years will open the door for builders on the salt area Commitment, “Awhad Tweet on Friday.
Awhad spoke with the head of MMRDA Svr Srinivas and asked him to photograph the tender.
On Thursday, Aaditya said there would be no construction that was allowed on salt land.
“I have delivered my view to Commissioner MMRDA.
CM also spoke to me and said I had taken the right seat.
So there’s no point in making a master plan.
This work must be removed and conspiracy to let the builder devour land salt land must be bitten from the beginning, “Awhad said to Ti.

“We have floated tenders to appoint consultants..
On Wednesday, we accept an offer from three parties…
But considering the current opposition from the ministers, we will wait for instructions and make appropriate decisions,” said an MMRDA official.
“But for a tender memo, we must get instructions from the state government or the committee must make a decision.” Officials said MMRDA was given additional status from the implementing agency for the development of salt land in 2004.
