The SEC set the limit of expenses for the polls of urban local agencies

Bhubaneswar: Because there will be direct elections for the Mayor of Three City Companies and Chairperson of various other civil bodies in the upcoming Urban Local Agency, the State Election Commission (SEC) improves the maximum limit of expenditure.
The state poll panel also revised the maximum limit of expenses by a candidate for board members and corporators in the upcoming urban polls until Rs 12 Lakh.
The candidate for fighting for the chairman for the city with a population above one lakh can spend a maximum RS 5 lakh while for the city has a population between 50,000 and one lakh can spend RS 3 Lakh.
Likewise, the candidate who fought for the Chairperson of the Council of Area which was notified (NACS) and cities that had a population of up to 50,000 could cost the maximum amount of RS 2 Lakh.
The maximum cost limit for members of NACS and cities that have a population of less than 50,000 has been revised.

The limit of expenditure for city council members who have a population of 50,000 to one lakh has been revised to Rs 75,000 from Rs 40,000 while for the city that has a population above one lakh, the expenditure limit has doubled to Rs 1 Lakh.
