The second Delhi only arrived at a number of registered EVs

New Delhi: Delhi has the second highest registered electric vehicle (EV) after Uttar Pradesh.
Until now, a total of 8.7 lakh EVS are registered throughout the state and the combined number of EVS in UP and Delhi is around 44% of the total EV registered in the country.
According to the road and highway transportation ministries, the total number of registered EVs does not include data from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Lakshadweep because their number was not captured in a centralized Vahan-4 database.
The Delhi government is one of the first movers to extend subsidies to encourage people to go for EV.
Even though it has put a hat to provide this subsidy to 1,000 first electric cars, no hats like other eVs such as e-rickshaws and two-wheeled.
In a written reply for parliamentary questions, the Minister of Transportation Union Nitin Gadkari said the ministry of heavy industry has formulated adoption and electrical manufacturing (hybrid &) which was faster in the Indian scheme (Indian Fame) in 2015 to promote the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles (XEVS) for Reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Meanwhile, to encourage EV penetration, parliamentary panels have urged the central government to have a direct database from the active filling station installed throughout the country so that EV users can easily find the nearest charging station.
