Kolkata: Calcutta High Court has a second highest Judge job among all high courts in this country after the Allahabad High Court.
In a written reply to TMC MP and senior lawyer Kalyan Banerjee, Law Minister of Rijiju Kiren Union on Wednesday, Wednesday 2019, until July 1, 2020, the Supreme Court Collegium has made seven recommendations for the Calcutta High Court Judge which is only two appointed, including a former public lawyer .

According to vacancy positions in the High Court released by the Minister of Competence for Law and Justice, only the High Court of Allahabad who has more vacancies than the Calcutta High Court.
However, Allahabad High Court has a 160 jury sanction strength and 66 judges.
Even the Bombay High Court, which has the power of sanction 94 jury, has a list of vacancies from 31 judges.
Among vacancies in the Calcutta High Court, 25 is for permanent judges and 16 for additional judges.
Banerjee Questions On When Job Vacancies Will Be Submitted, Rijiju did not do a time frame but said: “Fill in vacancies in the High Court is a continuous, integrated and collaborative process between executive and justice.
This requires consultation and approval from various good constitutional authorities at The state and central level.

While the Calcutta High Court Judge arranged for retirement this year, the next retirement in 2023.
In April 2020, five Calcutta High Court judges were transferred.
Three of them took over as the main judge of Bombay, Madras and Meghalaya.
The Calcutta High Court now has two additional judges.
