Hyderabad: Greater Officials Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced that the longest flyover of the two cities – Aram Ghar to Nehru Zoological Park – will be launched in March 2023.
Chief Secretary of Somesh Kumar along with Commissioner GHMC DS Lokesh Kumar on Wednesday checked Bahadurpura Flyover and Aram Ghar Flyover works, which is part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).
The six Lane Aram Ghar Flyover will be raised in 119 piers for a distance of 4.08 kilometers and is being built with an estimated cost of 636.80 crore.
From the budget, 300 crores have been intended for civil work, while the rest, 336.80 crore, has been established for land acquisition, compensation, demolition of structures, utility shifts and implementing electrical fittings during project implementation.
CS directs officials to speed up construction and examine existing plans.
The Flyover, falling under the Charminar GHMC zone, will be the second longest in terms of long after PV Narasimha Rao Expressway, which is 11.6 km long.
Somesh Kumar told the officials to ensure that the flyover, being built between Aram Ghar and Zoo Park, would be very beneficial for the population of the old city, especially those who visited the zoo.
The engineers explained that the construction of flyovers was hampered because 163 properties had not been obtained.
Officials directed by CS to ensure work is carried out in coordination with the power utility, the affiliate bayati department and aquaculture department to ensure that the construction work of Flyover Park Aram Ghar-Zoo is done without obstacles.
On the other hand, officials said that Bahadurpura Flyover, was being built at a cost of 69 crorses bordering Aram Ghar Flyover, maybe finished at the end of March.
