Rajkot: The second RO-RO ferry service that connects India’s biggest private port Mundra and Vadinar will all be started next month.
The 53 km sea route is expected to provide large contents to several major industries such as ceramics in Morbi, brass parts in Jamnagar and engineering items in Rajkot.
Highly placed sources were confirmed to the TOI that the cargo ship which will be operated by Adani Group has earned most permissions to start services.
Vadinar is owned by the central government managed by the government (DPT), previously Kandla, who passed the proposal at the Board Meeting was held last month to allow Adani Logistics Ltd using the RO-RO pier in Vadinar to start this service.

Cargo imported at the Port of Mundra must travel 270 km to reach Jamnagar, but if published on the Ro-Ro ship and lowered in Vadinar, only need 53 km to reach Jamnagar.
In the same way, a distance of 250 km between Rajkot and Mundra will be reduced to only 140 km from Vadinar.
RO-RO services will help reduce traffic on the road, vehicle pollution and provide cost effectiveness.
