Kalyan: A 78-year-old man and his wife (70) was stabbed to death by unknown people in their homes in the city of Ganeshpuri Thane on Saturday.
The police suspected personal competition was the reason behind murder because there were no valuables missing.
The police also found TV turned on, showing that it was an intentional action to prevent the neighbors from hearing their shouts.
The murder was revealed when the couple’s maid came to work in the morning.
The police have arrested the suspect and claimed to have achieved a breakthrough in this case, the Pradeep Gupta reported.
The couple was identified as Patil’s chair aka Balu, (78) and his wife, Satyabhama (70) who lived in the village of Akloli in the city of Ganeshpuri.
The couple has two sons who also live in Thane and a married daughter and live separately.
The murder was revealed when the couple’s maid came to work in the morning.
When no one answered the doorbell, he became suspicious and told the police.
Senior citizens were found lying in a pool of blood in their living room.
After investigating, the police found all the women’s gold jewelry was not touched even though the killers had rampaged at home.
The police also investigated the corner of the property dispute in the murder case.
Officials also said that the suspects may have killed senior citizens Friday night because Patil, a disabled found near his chair.
They were killed before they went to bed, suspicious of the police.
Police Ganeshpuri has registered a murder case.
