Lahore: The anti-terrorism court in Punjab Province Punjab Pakistan on Friday reduced the five-year imprisonment of up to five terrorists, including those included in the Tehreek-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which were prohibited.
An official of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said the terrorist who was sentenced – Muhammad Aslam, Basharat Khan, Muhammad Ali, Niaz Abbas and Adil Abbas – was arrested by CTD earlier this year from the Sargodha and Khushab District of Punjab.
They were punished after prosecution presents evidence and witnesses to them in ATC.
“ATC Sargodha has reduced a five-year imprisonment of up to five terrorists and also ordered the confiscation of their property,” the official said to PTI.
“The terrorists are arrested while planning to target government buildings and law enforcement agencies in Punjab.
Hand grenades and other weapons recover from them,” he said.
The official said that these terrorists included some included in TTP which were prohibited.
The court has also imposed a fine of PKR 500,000 (USD 2,979) in each.
