Facebook social networking website has announced that it is set to update the mobile application settings menu.
The part of the new redesign will streamline the settings page on the cellphone.
The new layout is set to be launched for all users this weekend, according to the company.
New appearance for the settings section will live for Android, iOS, Mobile Web, and Facebook Lite.
According to the company, the design of this new setting section aims to make it easier for users to navigate and find tools.
“Does it manage ads that people see, adjust the sharing settings, or curate audiences for posts, people should not need to think too hard about where to start,” said the company.
As part of a new layout, Facebook has reduced the number of categories and changed their names to more than “matching the mental model of people,” this means that settings are now grouped into broad categories – accounts, preferences, your information, information, and community standards and Legal policy.
Each contains several related settings.
In addition, it also moves several independent settings along with related setting options.
“For example, news bait settings, who previously live in their own small categories, now live under preferences where it is grouped with similar settings,” said the company.
The company has also opened a unbupled privacy setting category and moved the previously contained settings in it into another category.
It will easily guide users through important privacy and security settings on Facebook.
The company has added other shortcuts to privacy checks, right at the top of the landing page.
