Pune: The fresh data from the State Health Department shows that the severe Covid case in Maharashtra is now 12 times lower than the second wave began to fade last May.
On February 7, the state has 3,528 patients with severe Covid-19.
Around May 31 last year, the number was at 44,036, the Ministry of Health data showed.
The state also has 93% less people in the ICU – from 15,854 patients around May 31 last year to only 1,710 now.
The doctor who took care of Covid said they saw a dent which was definitely at the severity of Covid.
Rahul Pandit, a member of the State Task Force, said, “There is no doubt about severe cases that is much lower than what they even when the second wave decreases.
This is mainly related to omicron vaccination and circulation, which may be less malignant than the Delta variant.
“Dr.
Manjusha Kulkarni, Secretary of the Hospital Association, Pune, said the shorter period of isolation was another indicator of low severity.
“The isolation period is now seven days, compared to the 10 days needed during delta waves.
Satomatis, there is a big difference between Covid symptoms seen last year and this year, with the third wave patient experiencing lighter symptoms.” Murali Rao Hospital Manipal, Pune, said, “Hospitals have needed more general environment rather than the icus during the third wave.
Most covid patients in this year’s icus are those who have comorbidity and people who are likely to be contracted Delta; the assumption is based on symptoms.
Many deaths In the third wave also because of the underlying and indirect conditions because Covid.
Last year, ICU revenues were much higher, even during the last months of the second wave.
“An official from the Ministry of Health confirmed a decline in severe cases.
“The number of people with severe Covid in total active cases has increased slightly because the active calculation itself falls.
But yes, the number of severe patients who came began to fall gradually.
This is much lower than we see during the last months of the second wave.
