Ludhiana: The second phase of the Canal Sidhwan Waterfront project is likely to be completed in November.
Punjab Food, Civil Equipment and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said on Sunday, “Jobs in the second phase of the Sidhwan canal water channel project occur in full speed.
This will be a prize diwali for residents.” When visiting the site, he said, ” The first phase of the project (about 1 km from Jalan Ferozepur to Ferozepur Railway Line) has finished around Rs 4.74 Crore.
A large number of residents now visit the area along with their children and family.
“This project includes the development of green belts, cycling lines, Play zones, trails along the canal, sitting area, wall climbing activities, among others.
In the second phase, the Sidhwan canal was being developed along the 1.6 km stretch (from Jalan Pakhowal to Jalan Dugri) at a cost of Rs 5.06 Crore.
It will have a green belt, cycle paths on both sides, double roads along the canal, among others.
Under the third phase of the project, the seafront will be developed from Dugri Road to the Dhuri line.
“With the development of around 800 m stretching around Rs 3 Crore, a large number of regional residents will benefit because they can be used to run in the morning / night along with other recreational activities,” he added.
