Mumbai: Anti-extortion cell (AEC) Branch of Police Crime Mumbai captured Gangster Ravi Pujari, desired to murder a local politician, in a case of a weapon, an official said on Tuesday.
Sadiq realized (44), a sniper from the Pujari gang, was arrested from a suburban green cotton on Friday night, in connection with weapons cases, the official said.
Based on the tip-off of the sale of illegal firearms, AEC put a trap near the cotton exchange building, where they arrested real with a state-made gun, the country-made revolver and 15 live cartridges, he said.
The defendant was desirable in connection with the killing of local politicians Rahul Shetty in Lonavala from Pune District, he said, as he added that he would be handed over to the local police there.
The investigation has revealed that it was actually involved in 15 serious violations such as murder and efforts to kill in Pune, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai, the official said.
