Lucknow: NOTED URDU POET Munawwar Rana Tabrez was arrested by police Rae Bareli from Lucknow on Wednesday night.
Police supervisor, Rae Bareli, Shlok Kumar, told Tii that Tabrez was desirable in a case where he had carried out a shootout on June 28 to frame his uncle Shakeel Rana and his son Yashaar Rana on his ancestral property issues.
Furthermore, Kumar said that Tabrez’s crime was strengthened during the arrest and interrogation of four armed men – Haleem, Sultan Ali, Satayendra Tripathi and Shubham Sarkar – who were arrested in the first week of July.
“We also have instructions from CCTV footage, where Tabrez can be seen conspiring with the alleged attacker,” Kumar said.
SP also said that the police had moved trial and then looked for a warrant to capture Tabrez.
Previously, Tabrez had claimed to have survived the murder attempt at Lucknow-Prayagraj Highway after the men who were transmitted cycling blew bullets in his SUV.
In the attack, Tabrez has named his uncle Shakeel Rana and his son, Yashaar Rana.
The police have compiled a case on July 2, based on CCTV recording evidence about Tabrez speckled collaborating with four accused at Rae Bareli Hotel and has also collected evidence about Tabrez using an attacker.
