Kolkata / Hooghly: A man in his twenties – the son of a Trinamool leader in Hooghly – was arrested for allegedly checking a former classmate by composing and circulating digital poster where his cellphone number was mentioned along with different nude photos of women.
He received a call request, message and video calls that were annoying from several unknown numbers in the past two months.
Arkadeep Kundu (21), son of 10 Ward Uttarpara-Kotrang coordinator, was picked up from a hiding place at a barasat where he had lived after his name was associated with this case and various political parties had started a rally campaign around.
He was charged with the underneath section and the IPC section deals with forgery, defamation and criminal intimidation.
He was produced in front of the Salt lake court on Sunday and returned in two-day police custody.
On June 12, a 20-year-old woman in Salt Lake – Daughter of a senior police officer in Bengal – has submitted a complaint with a crime of Cyber Bidnagar PS.
The police have begun investigated and find Kundu’s involvement and send notice to him.
“My child might have made a mistake.
The police came to us and we worked with them.
But I want a fair probe,” said Delipu Kundu, the environmental coordinator.
Other TMC leaders from the district, Dilip Yadav, said: “We have told the police to carry out a fair investigation.”
