JOHANNESBURG: The South African High Court ordered former President Jacob Zuma to return to prison after putting aside the decision to release him on medical conditional liberation, a court assessment showed on Wednesday.
The 79-year-old child began parole in September, and served a 15-month sentence for insult to the court, after he ignored instructions to participate in investigating corruption.
In the same month, the court over South Africa refused to offer him to cancel the sentence.
The legal process of Zuma for alleged corruption during the nine-year reign was seen as widely as the post-apartheid capacity of South Africa to enforce legal rules, especially against people who were strongly connected.
Zuma handed himself on July 7 to start a prison sentence, triggering the worst violence of South Africa had seen many years, because Zuma supporters who were angry took to the streets.
Protests widen into looting and outpouring of general anger for the difficulties and inequality that lasted 27 years after the expiration of apartheid.
More than 300 people were killed and thousands of businesses looted and were destroyed.
The correctional service department said he was studying the judgment and in time would make further statement.
