MADRID: The Spanish High Court on Thursday reduced investigations for war crimes and genocide against the independence leader of West Sahara Brahim Ghali, who was hospitalized in Spain caused a diplomatic line with Morocco.
Ghali and other front leaders Polisario were accused by human rights groups and individuals of Western Sahara from genocide, murder, terrorism, torture, and disappearances, said court documents.
Ghali has emerged remotely at the court hearing last month as part of an investigation.
His lawyer said he denied the mistake.
The High Court decided that most of the facts were brought against Ghali covered by restriction status.
It is said that there is not enough evidence to support allegations of genocide.
Ghali receipt for medical treatment at the Spanish hospital in the northern city of Logrono in April without warning Morocco triggered a strong dispute between the two countries.
Morocco responds by controlling a relaxed border that allows thousands of migrants to enter the spanish ceuta bag.
