Mumbai: Maharashtra on Saturday reported 8,296 positive cases of Coronavirus and 179 deaths while 6,026 patients recovered, said the state health department.
With new additions, Tally Covid-19 in Maharashtra rose to 61.49,264 and the death toll became 1,25,528.
Of the 179 deaths, 143 occurred in the last 48 hours while 36 in the last week.
In addition, 315 deaths have been added to the Cumulative Maharashtra toll report, which means the total death number has risen 494 compared to Friday, the health department said in a report.
A health official said 6,026 patients were dismissed from hospitals in the last 24 hours, took the number of recovery so far in Maharashtra to 59.06.466, leaving the country with 1,14,000 active cases.
The level of recovery of Maharashtra cases is now at 96.05 percent and the death rate is 2.04 percent, the official said.
Mumbai City reported 504 Covid-19 cases on the day and 13 deaths, taking counting to 7.27.136 and the toll became 15,612, the report said.
The Mumbai division consisting of satellite cities and neighboring MMR regions added 1,674 new cases and 29 deaths on Saturday, which raised the count of Covid-19 infection and death to 16,13,560 and 32,976, he said.
The Nashik division reported 578 cases and seven deaths while Division Pune added 2,338 cases and 42 fatalities, according to the report.
Kaseload in the Kolhapur division rose 3,214 and the death toll rose 69.
The Aurangabad division reported 101 cases and 23 deaths.
All of these deaths reported from the rural part of Aurangabad.
There was no death because Covid-19 was reported from all districts and cities in the division, the report said.
Kaseload in the Latur Division increased 251 while the count of casualties because Covid-19 was installed by seven.
The Nagpur division reported 71 new cases and one death, he said.
With 2,35,020 new tests, the total number of samples tested so far for the Coronavirus in Maharashtra rose to 4,38,00,139, reflecting the overall position of 14.04 percent.
At present, 5,85,580 people are in the housekeeper and 4,737 people are in institutional quarantine throughout Maharashtra.
