Noida: The city’s ambitious electric bicycle project might not immediately see the light of the day.
This is because Bengaluru’s micro-based mobility platform was chosen by the Noida Authority to establish more than 60 docking e-bike stations in the city, it has not been able to send its plans in deadlines.
As a result, the authority has initiated the tender process to select an agent again.
It was in August this year that the authority began negotiating with Yulu Bikes Private Limited to regulate the project.
The agency must gradually establish 63 docking stations and provide five electric bicycles in each.
In addition to taking user fees, the authority has also agreed to offer advertising rights to agencies.
“The company asks some time to regulate infrastructure and start the project.
We extend their deadlines.
However, we do not get the final proposal or communication after the deadline passes,” said a senior Noida officer authority from traffic cells.
Authority plans to establish 62 stations throughout the city to meet daily and executive commuters who work hard to reach their office or workspace with the absence of feeder transit services for the last connectivity.
Authority wants to choose two agents to offer competitive levels to the work population and better service.
To choose the second agency, the authority floated bid on October 25.
Meanwhile, it has canceled the work order issued for Yulu bicycles.
“Prepare so many cycling stations without users are not feasible.
Authority needs to focus on starting services by offering a reasonable period of moratorium for an institution before asking for income,” said Dharmendra Singh, the founder of a private company based in Sector 61.
