WASHINGTON: The Supreme Court on Thursday increased the limitation of voting in Arizona in a decision that could make it more difficult to challenge other election steps applied by Republican Parliament members after last year’s election.
The court, with a 6-3 vote, reversed a lower court ruling in deciding that Arizona’s limit on who could return the initial ballot for others and rejection to calculate ballots in the wrong place not discriminatory.
The Federal Appeal Court in San Francisco has stated that these steps disproportionately influence black, Hispanic, and Native Americans do not violate important voting rights.
