Hubballi: The Ministry of Education, cooperating with the RDPR department, has completed a door-to-survey in rural areas in Dharwad Regency to take details of students who have broken up because of a pandemic.
The rural development department leads a home survey to bring poor children back to the mainstream community.
Surveys were carried out under the guidance of the RDPR department.
Members of the School Development Committee and Monitoring, AngganWadis and Women Help Self-Brand visited each house to get details on children who have stopped formal education.
The rural development department has prepared a cellular application in which district level data, taluk, and cluster-level uploaded.
According to the ZP source, this survey was conducted at 144 GPS with the help of 1,606 enumerators from the first week of January to the last week of August.
After surveying 1,44,695 children aged 18 years and under, the department found that 223 of them had come out for various reasons.
Most of them have come out to work as daily wage workers (as orders from their parents) while some lose access to education because of poverty.
Moh Hanchate, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, said they had completed a drop-out survey in rural areas of the Dharwad district working with the RDPR department.
“Workers from Angganwadis and GPS are part of the survey team.
We have identified 223 students who have stopped their education during a pandemic.
We have now started the process to admit government schools.
Most of them are in lower elementary schools and Some in high school, “he said, add 70% of the drop-out survey of schools has been completed in urban areas.
Akkamma, a Teacher Anganwadi from Devarahubli Village, said they did a survey using a cellular application.
“We visited every house in the village for the survey.
Those who have stopped their education now back to school.
We made arrangements to enter the nearest school,” he added.
