The suspect in detention after injuring 3 Houston officers: Police

Houston: A suspect leads the Houston police on the pursuit on Thursday which ended with him injuring three officers in a shootout, stealing a car and preventing him in the house for hours before the officers took him to detention, said the authorities said.
The incident began at around 14:40 when officers responded to a family disturbance call in a house in the Northeast Houston, Police Chief Troy Finner told a press conference.
The three injured officers were in a stable condition after being taken to the Hermann Memorial Hospital.
Two officers were transported by other patrol patrol vehicles while the Houston firefight department took the third.
One of the officers was shot in the arm, the other was shot in the legs and the third was shot at the foot, said Doug Griffith, President of the Houston police officer.
“We really thank God, they are fine,” Finner said.
The police have responded to the shooting report at the suspect’s boyfriend’s house, according to Griffith.
When the officer arrived, the suspect, whose name was not released by the authorities, fled in a vehicle and led the police by chasing several miles.
Chase ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into the intersection in a residential neighborhood not far from the Interstate 69 on the southeast bank of Downtown Houston.
“Officers, when they came out of the vehicle, the suspect immediately shot at the officers, striking three officers.
All officers returned the fire,” Finner said.
It is not known if the shot of officers injured the suspect.
Finner said it might be a suspect firing more than 50 rounds.
Officers described the gun, the suspect used as “a fully automatic weapon,” he said.
The suspect escaped from the scene and slaughtered white Mercedes firearms, said Finner.
He then went to the house located a few miles in the northeast where the accident occurred.
The officer surrounded the house.
The suspect fired several times but not about one of the officers, who returned the fire, said Finner.
The suspect remained bomitur at home until shortly after 7:30 a.m.
on Thursday, when the officer took him to detention after hours of negotiations, according to Houston Police.
The suspect was believed to be the only person at home.
It was not immediately known why he went there, said Finner.
Sylvester Mayor Turner said he visited the officers who were injured and found them talking a lot and in a good spirit.
Turner said shooting Thursday highlighted the face of law enforcement danger every day and the increasing crime of violence that had affected Houston and other US cities over the past few years.
Finner said the “difficult week for law enforcement” in Houston.
On Sunday, a Houston Deputy was shot fatally during the traffic stop, and the Deputy Office of Sheriff Harris County was beaten fatally by the vehicle Monday morning when he stood near a motorcycle while blocking the Houston Highway outgoing way as long as not on duty work for heavy machinery.
Turner said that he and Finner planned to announce next week “additional steps” of this city will be needed to discuss the increasing crime in Houston.
“It will take us all working together to have a very safe city,” Turner said.
