Thiruvananthapuram: A subspective attached to the Poovar Police Station was placed under the suspension delaying the question of allegations of custodian torture.

According to the police department authority, the suspension order was issued based on a report submitted by a special branch (rural district) on charges of custodial torture from a 35-year-old man, identified as Sudheer Khan.
In accordance with the complaint, the police team led by Sanal J took Sudheer to detention on Sunday from Poovar Petrol Pump when he stopped his motorcycle to relieve himself.
The police first asked him for the documents of his vehicle and when he walked towards the vehicle to pick them up, the one struggled on his back using Lathi (Baton).
The police then took him to the station and attacked him further, ignoring his claim that he was a patient who suffered a problem related to neurology.
The police also rejected their family members to enter the station and saw it followed where local people gathered outside the station and launched a protest, which eventually led to a preliminary investigation by the police.
