Vadodara: Thirteen Senate Members, including seven members nominated by the government and six were selected, on Saturday demanding that the MS University must delay the election of the upcoming Senate.
In the Memorandum submitted to the Registrar of the MSU, members of the Senate demanded that the upcoming election be postponed given the ongoing questions regulated by the Gujarat government to investigate alleged irregularities in appointments and other things.
“We wanted to notice that the committee was founded by the Gujarat government after a representation was carried out to the Minister of Education.
We strongly asked and demanded that the process of electing the ongoing senate must be postponed immediately,” Note Note Note.
Furthermore, the group argues that even the Central Commission from the caste scheduled has been seeking clarification from the MSU Vice-Chancellor (VC) in the designation material.
“In such circumstances, we have doubts about the free and fair selection process.
Also, we demand that the selection of all the Senate categories must be made on one day rather than making the election process spread over a month,” further memorandum was stated.
The Group has claimed that at the time of VC and the Registrar facing investigations, the electoral process might be influenced, especially in the category of professors and teachers.
“The term senate body now ended on March 31, 2022 but the process was carried out in a hurry,” said Senate members.
