The Taliban controlled CAA wrote to DGCA to continue commercial flights between India and Afghanistan

New Delhi: The Afghan Civil Aviation Authority controlled by the Taliban (CAA) has written to Indian flight regulators DGCA to continue commercial flights among countries.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has not made a decision in this matter.
The last commercial flight between India and Afghanistan was operated by Air India on the Route Kabul-Delhi on August 15, Kabul’s day fell to the Taliban.
Afghanistan Airspace was declared “uncontrollable” by CAA on August 16.
In a letter dated September 7, 2021, the Acting Minister Caa Alhaj Hameedullah Akhunzada asked DGCA to allow commercial flight airlines Ariana Afghanistan between India and Afghanistan.
Akhunzada stated in his letter: “When you get information well that recently broken and (left) Kabul Airport is dysfunctional by American forces before their withdrawal.” With the help of technical assistance by Qatar, the airport became operational once more and a Noto (notification to the pilot) in this case was issued on September 6, he noticed.
“The purpose of this letter is to maintain a smooth passenger movement between two countries based on the MOU signed and our national operator (Ariana Afghan Airline and Kam Air) aims to start their scheduled flights,” he said.
Therefore, Afghanistan CAA asks you to facilitate their commercial flights, said Akhunzada.
“Civil flights of the Afghan Islamic Emirates use the highest guarantee,” he added.
As a neighbor of Afghanistan, India is naturally worried about the recent changes in the country and the implications for the area, Harsh’s foreign secretary Vardhan Shringla said on September 20.
He demanded that the Afghanistan region should not be used to protect, training, planning or financing terrorist acts.
