Doha: A senior Taliban delegation led by Sher Muhammad Abbas Stanekzai met with the officials of the Pakistani Embassy in Qatar on Friday where the two delegates discussed the issue of current developments in Afghanistan.
Take it to Twitter, Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen said both parties held talks on humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and problems related to facilitating people’s movements in Torkan and Spinboldak.
“Sher M.
Abbas Stanikzai, deputy director of his political office and delegation met the Pakistani ambassador to Qatar and his delegation.
Both parties discussed the current Afghanistan situation, humanitarian assistance, bilateral relations based on mutual interest, Afghanistan reconstruction and related problems with facilitating the movement of people at Torkan and Spinboldak, “Shaheen tweeted.
This meeting came after the Taliban took over from the Afghan refugee crisis and subsequently caused by strong violence on weeks.
Earlier this week, Pakistan closed the border of the room with Afghanistan quoting security issues.
“We want peace and stability in Afghanistan.
We have installed a fence on the border,” Pakistani Minister of Home Affairs Sheikh Rashid was quoted as saying by TRIBUNE EXPRESS.
Rashid added that “because of some worries” the border in Chaman was temporarily closed.
“However, we will not let chaos spread.
There are no Americans left in Pakistan.
Those who came had gone”, he said.
Pedestrian traffic through the southern Western border intersection of Pakistan quickly increased after a Taliban hostile Afghanistan takeover over the past few weeks.
The situation at the Afghanistan-Pakistani border remains tense because of the entry of refugees from Afghanistan.
Some reports said that Pakistani troops had opened fire on Afghan refugees at the Torkham border intersection.
