KABUL: Taliban on Monday took over the Afghan TV office in Lashkargah City, the capital of Helmand in the middle amid the clashes intensified with Afghan government forces.
According to Sputnik reports, employees from the TV studio arrested have not been in the office for the last two days, and broadcasts have stopped at all Helmands.
Fighting in Lashkargah increases on Sundays.
Previously, Afghan government forces killed 38 Taliban members when they tried to invade prisons in the southwestern city of Lashkargah on Monday.
This came because many parts of the city fell to the Taliban in recent weeks, Tolo News reported.
Afghanistan witnessed a surge in violence amid a gradual withdrawal of international forces from the country in accordance with the US-Taliban peace agreement ended in Doha in February 2020.
