Nagpur: Stung by extensive criticism of the transfer of stripatan Tadoba-andhari Tadoba-Andhari (TATR) Transfer Jitendra Ramagaonkar, the state government has canceled the decision and maintain it at the same post.
Now, Director of Lapch Field Ravikir Govekar has shifted to Mantalaya as a joint secretary.
On October 25, the government dropped Ramagaonkar to the Ministry of Forest as a shared secretary without a certain reason.
He had joined Tadoba on August 13, 2020, and was hardly finished one year.
Most of the term of office was damaged by Covid-19 limitations.
He was transferred when wildlife management work had gained momentum.
On Wednesday night, the state issued a new order and posted Govekar as the Head of the Forest Conservator (CCF) in Mantralaya.
He has been asked to take over the new post soon.
Posting Govekar to Mumbai will mean the loss of experienced officers who are rich in wildlife who work in Gadchiroli, Tadoba, NNTR, and also in the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
He is also a nodal state officer for all estimates (AITE) all India (AITE) -2018 and has participated in the training session for Aite-2022 recently.
On August 2, 2021, the Minister of Environment Union Bhupender Yadav had written to Maharashtra Head of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray seek support for Tiger estimates.
