Chennai: A 37-year-old teacher who has reported to the police sales of illegal liquor in his neighborhood, was attacked by the defendant’s Bootlegger in Ottery on Saturday night.
The victim, Jane de Monte, 37, was a teacher in a private school in the neighborhood.
Police said Jane had filed a complaint against Rajesh Kumar, 39, for selling Liqour illegally from his house.
Based on complaints, the police have raided Rajesh’s house and warned him to stop illegal sales.
Police believed Rajesh knew about Jane’s complaints.
On Saturday, Jane walked near her house when Rajesh, was drunk, intercepting her.
He took the argument with Jane told the last to destroy his life and began to mock Jane, asking why he reported it to the police.
“He warned Jane not to report it in the future, then took the stone from the ground and attacked Jane until a pedestrian came to save her,” said a police officer.
Jane rushed to a private hospital, where she was given first aid and her condition was said to be stable.
The police arrested Rajesh.
He was returned in judicial custody.
