Hyderabad: When you think of heritage in Hyderabad, which comes to mind is a fortress, the palace and tomb.
But what we often fail to pay attention is a structure that is more everywhere – Kaman (arches), which stands as a symbol of the noble past.
Most of this Kaman, who used to serve as a large entrance for several important landmarks, is now wallowing in neglect.
One of the arches is Hussaini Alam Kaman who is historic, on a busy road Dhotohbaoli and Hussai nature.
Kaman, which was founded during the Nizam era, stood up as an entrance to the 400-year-old ashoorkhana in the old city of Hyderabad.
However, with concrete pieces falling at any time, the locals urge the authorities to make improvements immediately.
“The situation is worse during the rainy season.
Even after several representations to the authorities, there have never been officials who have visited to inspect and measure structural feasibility,” said Mohammad Ahmed, a social activist.
He said that the cheat finally faced the same fate as the era of Nizam Kaman in Shalibanda which had to be returned by Hyderabad Municipal Corporation which was greater after some of it was destroyed last year.
Kaman is another, also on his last leg is Mir Alam Bathrinter Kaman, with a concrete piece falling at any time.
Kaman, which was founded during the Nizam era, stood up as the entrance to one of the oldest and most crowded markets in Hyderabad.
“Instead of renovating the legacy structure, the authorities have established iron pillars to support the concrete weight of about two years ago.
The iron pillars only improve temporarily for problems and we are not sure how long we can rely on this arrangement,” said Ghulam Dastagir, 62 , which has sold vegetables on the market for the past 40 years.
S Surya Kumar, GHMC officials who examined Kaman in December last year, said that there was no threat to the structure that collapsed.
But Mir Muzaffer Ali, President, Association of Agent Agent Vegetable Bathing Vegetable, “Many vehicles pass through the tapes, which cause vibration in the structure and concrete pieces continue to fall.” Historians said that the four arches near Charminar built together with Charminar in 1591 also needed repairs.
“Shahi Julu Khana Kaman is one of the many entrances to Chowmahalla Palace.
Unfortunately, due to lack of attention, the plaster has been lost and only a few broken stones, ” Rued Mohammad Sauhil, one of the shop owners in the area told toi.
Because of us Now aims to tag world heritage for Hyderabad, legacy activists say that when the government takes the recovery of this historical arch that puts the city.
