Hyderabad: The new government notification to acquire land around Kothha Cheruvu Tanks in Sircilla suspended by the Telangana High Court on Thursday after farmers affected by raising the red flag to the country did not conduct a social impact assessment (SIA) incorrectly revealed it as an irrigation project.
They also highlighted how new notifications were issued even though those previously suspended by HC in 2019.

The state has issued a notification based on the New Land Liberation Law to obtain 4.28 hectares to develop Kothha cheruvu tanks with parks, gyms, parking areas and playgrounds while claiming liberation from SIA.

“The social impact report submitted by the Government will be evaluated by independent multi-disciplinary groups which in turn can direct the government to leave a proposal if guaranteed.
To avoid the above process, the government has claimed as an irrigation project and the exception sought,” Pratik added.
He also shows how identical notices are issued by the state for the same public purpose, against the same applicant and for the same nature in 2018.
